Iso-Dynamic Training

Iso-dynamic training is the process of incorporating dynamic muscle actions, such as eccentric and concentric with an emphasized isometric action (either yielding isometric or overcoming isometric). So, for example if you were doing curls, you might do a couple of “normal reps” followed with an isometric pause at an extended position and then repeat several times before the set is over. The exercise set might look something like this:

Bicep curl 3 normal reps

Bicep curl extended position 10 second hold

Bicep curl 3 normal reps

Bicep curl extended position 10 second hold

Bicep curl 3 normal reps

Bicep curl extended position hold till failure
