Sleep Support

$49.95

A lack of quality sleep has been shown over and over again in numerous studies to significantly decrease performance, increase risk of injury, cause fatigue, and even cause the dreaded brain fog.

It's a fact that both sleep quantity, or how long we sleep, and sleep quality, or how well we sleep, matter tremendously. But even though the importance of sleep is common knowledge, lack of quality sleep continues to be a problem for many of us.

Let’s face it. Sometimes life gets in the way. Whether it’s stress, travel, or some other contributing factor, our sleep can be negatively affected.

That’s why we developed a scientifically-formulated sleep support supplement featuring Tart Cherry Extract and Magnesium Glycinate to help promote restful sleep, allow you to wake up feeling refreshed, and improve your recovery.*

The proven compounds in UEN Sleep Support work well and have plenty of research to support their efficacy on their own, but work even better in our synergistic blend to help you achieve higher quality sleep long-term.

There’s no added melatonin, so you don’t have to worry about becoming dependent or waking up feeling groggy.

For best results, take UEN Sleep Support about 45-60 minutes before going to bed.

Magnesium Glycinate (200mg)

Magnesium is one of the most prevalent essential minerals found in the body. It plays a role in regulating a neurotransmitter called GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid). GABA signals the brain to wind down for the night, and slows communications down from the brain to the central nervous system.  Magnesium Glycinate (which is Magnesium bound to the amino acid L-Glycine) has shown to be effective for helping with sleep quality, as L-Glycine is helpful for inducing sleep. This works well in conjunction with L-theanine, as there is a synergistic relationship between the two in improving sleep quality. Magnesium Glycinate appears to be the best form of magnesium for sleep.

Zinc Bisglycinate (25mg)

Zinc acts as a sleep modulator - “orally administered zinc increases the amount and the quality of sleep in mice and humans.” We use zinc bisglycinate over its counterpart, zinc gluconate, simply for the fact that the bisglycinate formula is up to 43.4% more bioavailable.

Vitamin B6 (5mg)

The use of Vitamin B6 in conjunction with magnesium has been shown to reduce stress.

L-Theanine (200mg)

Trials have shown l-theanine can inhibit the excitatory effects of caffeine, particularly in the slow-wave sleep state. As an amino acid that assists in anxiety mitigation, L-theanine has been shown that it can help decrease sleep latency and improve NREM (non rapid eye movement) sleep. Overall, L-Theanine increases the quality and duration of sleep.

Tart Cherry Extract as CherryPURE (480mg)

Tart Cherry Extract helps induce sleep and has the added benefit of encouraging rapid muscle recovery after exercise and supports exercise performance by harnessing the antioxidant power of cherries. In one study, “there were significant increases in time in bed, total sleep time and sleep efficiency total (P < 0.05) with cherry juice supplementation.” Interventions utilizing tart cherry juice resulted in a universal increase across studies in total sleep time (range from 29–39 min). The studies also showed modest improvements in SE (2.7–3.7%), and slight reductions in SOL (3.6–9.1 min) and WASO (16.8 min). The tart cherry juice studies were all performed in general population cohorts (both healthy and poor sleepers). Tart Cherry “increased sleep time and sleep efficiency. Cherry juice procyanidin B-2 inhibited IDO, increased tryptophan availability, reduced inflammation and may be partially responsible for improvement in insomnia.”

Valerian Root Extract (400mg) and Lemon Balm Extract (300mg)

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) and Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) root are herbs reported as anxiolytic calming agents. When Valerian Root Extract and Lemon Balm were used in conjunction, patients during double-blind, placebo-controlled tests exhibited the anxiolytic properties the two herbs conferred synergistically.

L-Tryptophan (100mg)

Physiologically, L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that is a precursor to serotonin, an important hormone that helps regulate sleep and mood. Clinical studies have shown that L-Tryptophan decreased sleep latency with supplemental intake. Taking exogenous L-Tryptophan is most beneficial in those experiencing mild insomnia, increased sleep latency, and general issues with sleepiness.
